The world-wide epidemiological threats of COVID-19 have had disruptive effects on almost every country's economy; however, some sectors of the economy have been hit much harder than others. Traffic to food services and drinking places have dropped roughly 23% in countries across the globe these last couple of months. In addition to fewer customers, local businesses do not typically have the same infrastructure and reserves to sustain themselves as chain restaurants do, despite being the backbone of national economies. Thus, the idea of Ambrosia came into play. By supporting and highlighting local restaurants from cities across the world, Ambrosia is helping cultivate innovation and shape communities, creating a more diverse world for us all. As three Kode with Klossy scholars based in Dallas, our goal is to use our newfound coding superpowers to create Ambrosia: a novel website that not only informs residents on ways they can sustain their local economies, but also empowers those that are traveling to support the diverse communities that they are visiting.

Love,

Sarah, Harini, and Nidhi
